To ensure the good people of York always had the veterinary care they deserve, Doc passed the torch along to his son, Dr. George Lewis Hartenstein IV in 1968. Together, they continued to provide both companion animal and farm animal medicine. In December 1986, Dr. Albert L. Haun signed on as Partner, and the hospital formally changed names from Hartenstein Hospital to Hill Street Veterinary Hospital. Over the next several years, Hill Street enjoyed steady growth and change as York County landscape changed from a farming town into a more modern suburban community.
